Financial Goal - Carla's week one challenge coincides with one of my January personal goals...take breakfast and lunch to work each day. I ate at home on New Year's Day. I've taken breakfast, lunch and snacks to work for Wednesday and Thursday. I have one more day to get through this week.
So far, I'm on track to "make due" with making my own meals for the day. It sounds hilarious, to me, as a personal finance blogger that this is the first year I've been doing this. So far, I estimate, I've
De-cluttering Challenge coincides with my goal of purging 10 things this month. So far I've identified that I have a bunch of school stuff cluttering up my life. By that I mean binders of notes from previous classes that I've not ever looked at in the last 6 years. So, last night I purged out one whole binder and 2 magazine holders worth of unnecessary school notes. I will be looking for a source to drop off the textbooks next, as there are some I just don't need anymore. The trouble with this is that I'd like to put them up for rent, yet I've highlighted the books like crazy. So it'll be hard for someone to use the book and read through all of my highlighting.
I'm still looking into this though.
My personal January Challenge Goals are listed here.
So, week one I've been sticking to both my personal goal and completing the challenge at the same time. I'm also about to purge out a jacket that I can't get the sweat smell out of anymore. It's about 7 years old, the zipper is going, yet the jacket itself isn't wearing yet. It's just that I can't get the smell out of it. It's currently soaking in Borax as the last attempt to re-fresh it. If this doesn't work, it's purged!
So far, three "things" purged for the month - all of them this week. I am next week to continue this, as by then I'll have some direction from school as to what I may need to reference and what I won't have to look at again.
Three days in and all is well!
You're doing great! I just went through my grad school binders (I graduated almost 8 years ago!) & ditched all of the notes & loose paper. Took me long enough! :-)
