January was a both good and bad. I'm not dwelling in the past though.
Good things:
I took my food to work with me for the first half of the month. The second half, due to the voluneering thing, was trickier to navigate.
I volunteered for a week. I met each of Carla's challenges and a bunch of my own.
I saved $25 from my budget. I earned $19.78 in extra income.
I made it through the first month of school.
I purged 10 items or more from my apartment. Clothing was removed from my closet. I have identified other items that can move along.
The dining/living room got cleaned up. Decor was added to our place.
The rest leaves room for improvement.
Debt repayment was $1640.00.
For February, I will be maintaining my debt repayment amounts. I will be reimbursing the money I had to pay out for my eye exam and glasses. I have some extra income coming in for February as well, so that will be moved to where it is needed. I have a lot of school things and curling things happening this month. It's another busy month. Studying needs to accelerate exponentially from now until I'm done. I have an exam every month from now on.
I'm back to taking my food with me to work and feel much better about it. I can't tell you how much my place smells like meat though! I cooked 3 chicken breasts, 3 pork chops, 2 steaks, and 4 sausages to get me through the week. That doesn't include the veggies that go with each.
Smells like I had a barbeque for Super Bowl yesterday - when in truth I was knee deep in physics homework trying to finish my assignment. I watched the last 5 minutes of play-clock time, after I had finished the assignment, because I needed a break and had to miss the Super Bowl party my bestie was throwing. Alas, I have 70 days left of school. After which time, the sacrifices I've made to get it done will not have to be made again.
Looking forward to taking another bite out of debt!
You did EXTREMELY well! Nice work. I so remember that feeling of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with school & getting my life back. You're almost there!

ReplyDeleteJust had to come over and say congratulations on your win - you must have worked so hard - for me it was a challenge just trying to keep up with the challenge. I will come over more often now I know you are here and hopefully pick up some good tips! Well done. Viv
ReplyDeleteViv - thank you for checking out my blog, and your congratulations. I don't even know how I managed to get it all done in one of the busiest months to date! I definitely was looking for a way to jump start 2013 and get going with some goals. Carla is such an amazing person for that with these challenges! Having won it in the end feels amazing! I hope to see you comment from time to and hope that you enjoy the content.
